Toyako Guest House Ponkotan is situated in Lake Toya, in the Toyako Onsen district. With free WiFi, this 1-star hostel offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge. I don’t often write reviews but my stay in this hostel just needs one. I stayed here for only one night on my trip trough Hokkaido and it was just amazing. The accommodation is clean and cozy and the beds are soo comfortable. But the best: the hosts. They were so kind and helped me with all my questions. English conversation is also possible! :-) Since it was heavily raining on the morning I left, the offered me a drive to the bus station. Thank you so much, Keiko-san, arigato gosaimasu.

Otaornai Backpacker's Hostel Morinoki is for free and independent travelers in Hokkaido Otaru. No good for small group or family. Spent three wonderful days here, very cozy Japanese traditional house. The staff make me feel warm. What's interesting is that on Chinese New Year's Eve (it's also my birthday) I sat in the restaurant with the hostel boss I guess, I was eating my meal, he was using the computer, and it was quiet around the fire until late at night. He kindly helped me clean up my kitchen waste. I got a sticker at the front desk to put on my suitcase. All are unforgettable memories.

A 10-minute walk from JR Kutchan Train Station, Niseko Backpackers Hostel Tabi-Tsumugi offers simple accommodation with extra-long beds. We had an amazing stay here. Riyo is a great host and went out of his way for us multiple times. Pick ups from the train station and morning shuttles to Mt Hirafu made things so easy. The dorm rooms are the most spacious I have had and they are super private and warm. The common areas are clean and inviting. You feel at home the moment you walk in. The kitchen has everything you need and the effort Riyo puts in for cleanliness doesn't go unnoticed. Highly recommend this place.

Conveniently situated in the Toyako Onsen district of Lake Toya, The Toya is situated 41 km from Muroran, 41 km from Higashi-muroran Station and 46 km from Hirafu Station. Staff is the most friendly we met in Japan, really lovely people! Good location, just a short walking distance from the lake and the visitor center.

Located in Sapporo, 1.9 km from Sapporo Station, plat hostel keikyu sapporo ichiba provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. Great room, corresponding to the price. Very close to the city center, within walking distance. The room has everything necessary for a comfortable stay: a small refrigerator, shower, toilet, sink, kettle, flashlight, lamps, a pleasant view from the window. The hotel staff is very polite, they told us about the attractions and answered accompanying questions.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Sapporo, WISE OWL HOSTELS SAPPORO provides air-conditioned rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a bar. Room was spacious in a great location. Shared facilities always clean and had a sink in the room. Staff lovely, even helped us make a reservation. Would definitely stay again.

遊悠館 is set in Chitose, within 35 km of Shin-Sapporo Station and 44 km of Sapporo Station. Featuring a shared lounge, the 2-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Clean and tranquil place. The staff were helpful, considerate,and awesome! A konbini ( convenience store) is located next to it.

Conveniently located in the Sapporo City Centre district of Sapporo, HELIO HOSTEL SAPPORO is set 13 km from Shin-Sapporo Station, 20 km from Otarushi Zenibako City Center and 36 km from Otaru Station.... Modern hostel in a good location. From the minute I entered I got a good impression, staff were extremely friendly and checked me in easily and gave me a thorough explanation of where everything was etc. The room was clean and the bed was very spacious and comfy especially for a hostel bed! Face and body towels were both provided which is always a bonus! The shower room was on a different floor which I thought was strange as you had to walk through the lounge/kitchen area to access them… yet the showers were clean and worked well. Oh and also … there were even straighteners and curlers in the shared washroom outside the showers! The washroom area in our room was very clean and the air freshener in the toilets smelt amazing!

Located in Shari, 41 km from Abashiri Port, HOTEL BOTH provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. Super clean and very helpful staff. The restaurant is also great.

Situated in Lake Toya, within 6.7 km of Lake Toya and 37 km of Muroran, Guest House Matsuyoshi features accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who... Everything was perfect for us. However, upon talking to other people who were staying at the same location, we were shocked to find out that there was no air conditioning in their room. This made their stay extremely uncomfortable. We had air conditioning in our room. When I brought it up with management, they said that some rooms have it and some rooms don’t. It is then very important when you book to ask for a room With air conditioning, if that is important to you.
